Preview with SDM

SDM data format saved on the local computer allows previewing reports without a DB connection for security or any other purpose.

On the Home tab, in the Preview group, click the Preview while pressing the <Ctrl> + <Shift> keys. Select an SDM file in the Repository File Window. The report opens up without a DB connection.

How to create an SDM file

To create an SDM file, follow the below instructions.

Creating an SDM file: Open your ODI file with query designer and make sure of the database connection. Click File > Save as SDM on the menu bar.

Or in Designer, add your ODI file into a report and make sure of the database connection. Click Save As SDM on the right-click pop-up menu on the ODI item in the DataInfo window.
