Legend


Sets legend options.

Show

Determines whether or not to display the legend.

Title

Sets the Title to be displayed for the legend.

Border

Determines whether or not to display border line and border background color.

Descending

Sets to sort data within the legend in descending order.

Gap from chart to legend

Sets the gap from the chart to the legend.

Use Symbol Width

When display the icon of the legend or graph mark, determines whether or not to set the symbol width.

Fit Legend Label Width

Determines whether or not to sort the label according to the maximum width of the legend label.

Location

Sets location of the legend.


Example - By Series

When the values displayed on the legend label are in the order of "Mexico, Canada, USA, Korea", the item order set in the "Select from series" dialog box determines whether to or not display the legend label for each item.

If you set Selected Item "Invisible" only

If only "Invisible" is set to the selected item, only the first displayed legend label is hidden, and the remaining labels will be displayed. In other words, only Mexico will be invisible and the rest of Canada, USA, and  Korea will be displayed.

If you set Selected Item "Visible, Invisible, Invisible" in order

If the selected item is set to in the order of "Visible, Invisible, Invisible", the first legend will be displayed, the second and third legends will not be displayed, and the remaining labels will be displayed. In other words, Canada and USA will be invisible and Mexico and Korea will be displayed.

Example - Descending option

If the values of the data displayed on the legend are in the order of "Mexico, Canada, USA, Korea", depending on whether the "Descending" option is checked or not, the order will be applied differently.

If you have not checked Descending

Data in the order from top to bottom direction, or from left to right in the direction of lists.

If you check the descending

Data in the order from bottom to top direction or from right to left in the direction of lists.

Example - Fit Legend Label Width option

If the values of the data displayed on the legend are "Oakland, Seattle, Woodland Hills, Richmond", depending on whether the "Fit Legend Label Width" option is checked or not, the width of the legend label will be applied differently.

If you have not checked Fit Legend Label Width

The width will be automatically adjusted to fit the number of characters in each data.

If you check Fit Legend Label Width

The width of the other labels will be set equal to the width of the label with the most character data(Woodland Hills).
